Duke
Kasprisin, M.D. is a board certified physician,
who has more than 25 years of experience in blood
transfusion medicine and tissue transplantation.
Dr. Kasprisin was the Chief Medical Officer for
the American Red Cross Tissue Services division
for 10 years. He played a crucial role in establishing
the tissue industry practices by serving as chair
of the Standards Committee for the American Association
of Tissue Banks and has held multiple positions
in the Association including board member, Secretary
and President. He has also held positions in the
American Association of Blood Banks including chair
of the Pheresis committee, member of the Tissue
committee and, currently, member of the Cellular
Therapy Committee. Dr. Kasprisin has published numerous
books, chapters and articles in the field. He acts
as Medical Director for several Tissue Banks and
Cellular Therapy companies. |

Nessa Vercillo has over 20 years experience
in the medical profession and has worked extensively
as a consultant with medical examiners, government
and hospitals throughout the country. She has been
involved in tissue banking for several years, together
with the American Red Cross Transplantation Services
and most recently as a vice president for another
nationwide, not-for-profit tissue bank. Nessa is
certified by the American Association of Tissue
Banks as a Tissue Banking Specialist and has been
involved in development, education and quality assurance,
including extensive medical chart reviews. She has
been engaged by hospitals, tissue banks and surgery
centers to establish workflows, policies and standard
operating procedures that address CMS, FDA, and
Joint Commission compliance. |

Jeff Winstead has held management positions
with increasing levels of responsibility in the
healthcare and tissue banking industries for over
13 years. While working with American Red Cross
Tissue Services, he developed a new business model
for tissue banks that encompassed the donor procurement
aspect as well as allograft tissue distribution.
As the Business Development Director for American
Tissue Services Foundation, Jeff worked with hospitals
nationally on supply chain management issues pertaining
to allograft tissue products, and consulted with
hospitals and their affiliated physicians on utilization
and standardization of allograft tissue products
to realize substantial cost savings. |
